Alan Smith Bio
Alan Smith is a seasoned graphic designer and entrepreneur with a strong portfolio in graphics, marketing collateral, websites, and social media design. He works with small businesses, companies, consultants, organizations, and startups across the U.S.
Alan’s career began in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area and Santa Clara Valley, where he held roles as a graphic artist, desktop publisher, and senior graphic designer for engineering, technology, publishing, and media companies. His past clients and employers include ADC Enhanced Services, California Micro Devices, Micro Linear, Space Systems Loral, Knight-Ridder Information, KBHK TV, Landmark Calendars, Westinghouse Marine Division, Academic Systems, and others.
Alan joined InfoPoint Inc., a web development firm in Santa Cruz, as a graphic artist. Encouraged by founder Don Steiny, he later launched Alan Smith Graphic Designer from his home office in Sunnyvale. Since then, Alan has delivered top-tier graphic and web design for a wide range of Bay Area and national clients.
Today, Alan is focused on providing graphic design, web design, digital design, and social media services to companies throughout the U.S.
His education includes a Web Developer Certificate and coursework in the Marketing Communication Certificate Program at San Jose State University Professional Development, along with classes in graphics and management at UC Santa Cruz Extension. He also studied computer graphics at Indiana Vocational Technical Institute, advertising design at Ball State University, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern Indiana.
